post: \u00a0March 2014. \u00a0This was my first time visiting the new Anacostia Arts Center in S.E., D.C. \u00a0I came to capture some videos and photos of the event for my good friend &#8220;Mr. Briggs&#8221;. \u00a0I ended up meeting several great people that night, whom \u00a0I still keep in contact with and have developed great partnerships with. \u00a0This was my\u00a0second\u00a0time hearing several of the &#8220;queens&#8221; that night (i.e., Tamika Love Jones &amp; Violet Marley), but a first hearing Maimouna Youssef. \u00a0I was\u00a0intrigued by her delivery, vocals\u00a0and lyrics;\u00a0\u00a0particularly her cover for Lorde&#8217;s &#8220;Royals.&#8221; \u00a0Her version is re-entitled <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DJ9qeDTVJ74\">&#8220;We&#8217;re Already Royal&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0(Check out the video)!\u00a0\u00a0What\u00a0an empowering woman, great singer, writer, and lyricist.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few\u00a0photos and a <a
